Time (Addressed to Civilian Girls)

You think you know it all
That what we have isn't as good as you
Your men come home at the end of everyday
Your love is iron clad so you say
But for me time is valuable
Fleeting, precious
For my love is gone from me
And I treasure every moment
Given
When you complain that they don't listen or spend enough time
I can tell you I would give anything to be in your shoes
To be allowed more time
For time with a sailor is anything but easy
But I wouldn't give it up for anything
Or trade a single second
So I continue waiting
A prompt for the group :iconheart-of-poetry: A poem about time and how to some it means the world.. i know i appreciate it alot more now :)

Really lovely. Though this poem is a reflection of a
different type of relationship, it reminded me of my mother.
She passed away suddenly and I never got to say goodbye.
When I listen to other people whine and bitch at/about their
mothers, I have the same thoughts: What I wouldn't give for
just a little more time. They have no idea how lucky they are.

Well done.
