Ignorance Is BlissHow I envy fools

Those born without the

Eyes to see the darkness; the
Ears to hear the lies; the
Skin to feel the chafing cold; the
Sense to realize:
There's darkness all around us,
Lecherous and black.
We lead a meaningless existence.
Bitter, I turn back.

How I envy fools

Living life, never knowing

The storm on the horizon;
Her clouds fill up the skies.
They do not see the warnings,
Nor hear the gentle "sigh"
Of the wind that's brewing.
They do not feel the rain.
Their never-knowing state
Is all that keeps them sane.

How I envy fools

They know nothing of pain

Will they ever find it,
The truth that I now know?
The sky is torn with vio
VertigoneLegs dangling
high above the courtyard.
Words falling
to the wayside.

From feet to ground,
from heart to mouth,
one becomes the function
of the other.

There is no terror like the lack of fear.
Hands holding on to obligation,
rather than the flimsy boundaries
of the rational.

There is no safety net
in this particular circus.
The art is stepping up there,
knowing what that means.
Clock Hands TurnAs confetti falls
Our bridges burn
Old times are lost
As clock hands turn

The words we shared
Now disappear
Your pen eliminating
Those once held dear

The years we had, now lie unlaced
That moment that covenant was signed
Our world - erased
Memories once entwined

Buried in time
Never to resurface
The laughs, the tears
That old storage case

As confetti falls
Our bridges burn
Old times are lost
And clock hands turn
A veil is raised
Smiling eyes are met
Vows are exchanged
With kisses wet.

Our lives go on
Continually diverging
Old loves long lost
Never more, merging.
Infatuation of a hyped up imaginationOne day we shall meet again,
playing the game of smoke and mirrors,
walking barefoot,
Will we even recognise each other?
Will we even recognise ourselves?
continue walking on ahead if that best suits,
but please don't tell me what I want to hear,
Fly away free in our separate directions,
For we are strangers once more.

My Friend
OceansHer body is very cold on the bed. The lights tint her skin blue and she is smiling, breathing little, eyes closed, still. If not for her chest, slowly rising and falling, she would look happily dead.

Arden sits by her in the enclosed room, asleep after having waited for a few hours. There is one chair in the room, where she sits, metallic and attached to the ground. She is shivering in feverish sleep. Her legs are tied by her arms to her chest. She dreams a regular dream, one where she is on an island of ice and a beating suns drums away at its edges. She slips on the islands shores as they melt. She fears drowning. Her shoulders are burnt;
Silence...I pound my foot into the ground
I smash my fist into the wall
I hurl myself
I scream bloody rage
I don't want to talk to anyone
They don't want to hear me
I don't want to seem self-centered
But I can't shake this feeling
I dread the morning when you will be gone
So I pound out my frustrations instead
I hope you can understand
That while all of this torture and violence
Is safe in my head
You will still be the cause of it
And for that
My hatred must never end.
DemonA shapeless gray figure falls across my mind.
Though it has no form, it still casts a shadow.
Consuming all within my vision,
But that's not the least of it.
I listen to faint whispers and screams.
They mean nothing to me anymore.
Only a white noise in this state of blackened Hell.
A deep sound can also be heard, but no one believes me.
Unfortunately, I cannot tear my eyes from what looms ahead of me.
I can feel its eyes burning into me, searching for something.
Frustrated, for it cannot find what it is looking for.
And it frightens me like nothing else.
I panic once again at the unknown creature.
But my legs, unwilling to move,
rise and shinei am tired in ways that can't be fathomed,
death and sleep blurs together in my hazy mind,

i could be dreaming, but then i'd have to wake up again and,

no.

this isn't me talking, just a stranger stealing my voice, twisting the words
until they don't matter. have you ever heard the sound of eternity,
it sings to me "you can't, you can't, you can't."

i just can't.

and it burns slowly, the summer heat feels like a fever. i'm always sick,
coughing up smiles and excuses, little lies soaring out of me like birds.

i hate how they sing in the morning.

there is no poetry for giving in, ripping yourself apart like a christmas present,

As I swim the room  eel-like.
How close to you , yet how                                              far
After all this time still so                                        distanced;
Somehow you're a stranger to me now.
Somewhere between dark and dawn
I realize don't want to think any more.
I want mercy-- where the gears of my mind
Stutter and wind down
The restlessness of my pulse to slow
And Morpheus to claim me with his whispers;
Locked in wakefulness I'm a beggar
'Please-- give me good dreams?'
Hidden BeneathMy lips are covered so I cannot scream,
my eyes are closed so I will not cry,
my arms are buried so you cannot see,
..this pain inside of me
it wants to be free.
A FlowerDelicate, understanding, gentle
Covered in dew, as fallen stars
A flower slowly opening to show its
Delicate elegance, serenity itself
Its stem? No not this, this trickle of words,
Too thick, to powerful, too strong
How to describe the details?
Ideas fluttering through my mind
A stem of butterflies? Alas,
Nature is beyond me, no words 
Are fit for this inexplicable feeling
Of joy, but now started, I must
Answer the questions which are
Tumbling through my brain, distraught,
But wait, I feel upon the crown of my head
An idea, and this I cannot ignore,
It pushes its way, this thing
And I feel like it was spoken out loud
In my brain, resounding with a melody,
As if it was carried on a wave of the 
Holy breath of God, to pound at the shores
Of our shallow understanding, 
Now, as I feel understanding nigh 
I realize the meaning of this search: 
To understand.
Things beyond.
The knowledge.
Of Mankind.
After this you may ask.
Have I found this knowledge?
Lost...Unfamiliar.
City-centre isolation,
Among Victorian mausoleums;
Despite the sunshine,
Something inside me
Seems deader than those beneath my feet.
I think I'm lost here--
But I don't expect you to find me.

I press the felt covered tip hard into white satin promises.
With every stroke, I create dream lands where silly things like love reside;
But I have the chance to visit these wonders.

Every time I step into this trance I discover new worlds.

Every single day I try to get you
To look my way
But your blind and I need to know
Why
You can't just see me for me?
Am I not good enough?
For your little standards?
You hide behind that mask
But to me it's as clear as glass
Who you are
What you are
Is confused and scared
You can't hide from me
I see everything that no one takes the time to see
Friends are better you say
Keeps all the hurt at bay
Safety is your strategy
But it's not my game
I can't play by your rules
So I am sad to say
No matter how much
I may love you
It will always be unrequited

A poem i wrote a long time ago about a guy i was in love with but he didnt love me back. But that is in the past and i want to say to those of you who love someone who doesnt love you back. I know its hard but finding someone who can love you with all they have is way better then waiting for someone to wake up and realize something that may never come true.

So dont give up hope. :heart: I have found someone who can love me for me and its an amazing feeling

I wasnt even looking when i found him :) It amazes me that a guy can love me without judgement since I was judged all my life by my dad.. :P

Well i have my mother and thats all i ever needed. i dont need my dad. I am a strong person without him and its his loss if he wants to cut me out of his life. and thank you that means alot :D
