Morning Brings
A beauty in the sky, a blinding flare. You try to pierce through clouds, but the clouds make you truly appear.
To me you are the beauty of the greatest gem and deepest heart
But I know now how I must protect it
Least I forget it
And the lessons that it taught
For the hour of darkness brings a thickness to the air, but I know you will soon be there.
For every night must come to an end
Just like the story told to children
When bedtime soon approaches
For every morning brings new riches
And I know I will be there in the end counting every blessing that it brings
I know you can never leave me, because you are never too far off. For we circle you round and round again, not to be cast off.
And that I know is what morning brings.

Reaching out for you
only to find a pillow filled with tears.
Where have you gone?
Silences fill the room as I breathe in.
I close my eyes and see the darkness
its coming over me.
The moon hides itself in fear
And the sun pushes through.
I open my eyes.
I see nothing. I feel nothing.
How much longer do I have?
til I break down
things here aren't right
I can't take the fight….

and the only thing that brings me back
is the hint of a smile in your voice.

The girl who talked for days on end
Has collapsed around the bend
In a muddled pile
Out of the way
While her eyes sang songs of Summer,
Her heart was in Winter’s hold.
Her lips looked the red of Autumn
And her hair Spring’s spun gold.
A happy girl was she indeed
Helping everyone in need
To make them smile
And make them forget
And while her words sang songs of Summer,

Her mind was well in Autumn,
But her thoughts Spring’s spun gold.

Finally returned back home

I reached for the stars
And tried to climb
The sun's golden bars
But those rays of light
Cut short my flight
